“What does it mean to be sanctified by God?”

“Lord, Please Do Your Work in Me” A Prayer in Poetic Form

God’s Rebuilding What’s Broken: A Prayer for Renewal

Being set apart (sanctified) by God for His holy purposes is an act of the Holy Spirit. You and I can’t do that work.

But, we can ask for renewal and to be made like Christ. We can bring Him ourself for molding. You may have areas of your life that feel weak, empty, or broken where you long for God’s remolding and rebuilding.

This poem is a sort of prayer for transformation. It’s a reaching out to God for sanctification, guidance, and for Him to fill us with His presence…all so we can live out His calling. If you’ve ever prayed for renewal, peace, or purpose, this reflection may speak to you.

Your Work In Me

Lord, please do your work in me

Build a road down to the sea

Where I'm filled with food I need

To strengthen me for godly deeds

~

Build a castle in my soul

So my life can be made whole

Build up places that are weak

And bring Your life to spaces bleak

~

Help me make more room for You

Help me quiet the things untrue

Turn me into what You planned

Guide my life by Your great hand

~

Sanctify my life this day

Still my mind in every way

Grow me into what You dreamed

To live a life by You redeemed.
