A Hidden Life: Finding Peace in a Noisy World

Why Choosing a Quiet, God-Centered Life Matters

Many people wonder if life has to be loud and attention-seeking to have meaning. Scripture reminds us of a different way—a hidden life rooted in humility, peace, and God’s love.

This poem explores the quiet strength of choosing what lasts over what fades, offering encouragement for anyone searching for calm in a noisy, striving world.

A HIDDEN LIFE

Do you live a hidden life

Or do you enter every strife

Is your mind a quiet place

Or is your life a noisy race?

Are your days more calm and free

Or do you often showcase "me"?

Do you live by what is true

Or is the focus all on you?

Have you given all to God

Or do you plow with your own rod?

Are you free from needing man

Or must you reach for someone's hand?

Are you at ease with gruff and rude

Or do you reply with attitude?

Do you give when needs arise

See the hurt in others' eyes?

Or do you care for your own needs

And reach for hollow, empty deeds?

We walk upon a journey's shore

Always seeking something more

Will the thing you hope to grasp

Fill the void and truly last?

I hope it does for your own sake

For all our lives will leave a wake

Of pain and loss and paths askew

Or joyous life with God anew

"Aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one."
