A Family’s Touch

How do I breakthrough and heal from isolation?

Isolation and "doing life on your own" often leads to increased risks of depression, anxiety and overall decline.

On Sunday our pastor talked about the impact a spiritual family has on wellness and growth in life. "The more" as he called it.

If you know anyone who tends to isolate, feel free to send this poem to them for inspiration and hope.

A Family’s Touch

When I'm alone and turned to self

My body, mind and very health

Get thrown into calamity

I’m all alone, no family.

/

I isolate and usually pause

But could I gain from common cause?

To have a family full of friends

To have their balm to help me mend?

/

I rarely link to others' hearts

To join as one from many parts

I long to care and seek to know

A family strong, and prone to grow

/

I'll maybe give my time away

To help my neighbor night or day

And ask for comfort when I am down

And feel their love beyond my frown

/

Yes, I’ll make a move today

I’ll leave my space and join the fray

Now I’m in God's family

I’ll walk with them in gloom and glee

Now I see the Lord's increase

And witness Satan's quick release

/

This body now complete in Thee

With all its parts alive and free

Held together oh so tight

By His grace, a sacred Light

/
